Bédoins situation at the south slope of the 6260 ft. high Mount Ventoux explains its unique Mediterranean climate. 50 miles north of the French Riviera the"Mistral" (strong north wind down the Rhone valley) blows away the clouds and is the reason for our beautiful weather. The village itself is protected from the wind by the mountain.

Here you will find apricots growing next to wine, asparagus next to lavender. Bédoin can call its own one of the largest forests of all French communities.

The village offers excellent sport facilities. Bédoin is not only a paradise for walkers and hikers, mountain climbing and horse back riding are also possible. Bikers are challenged to follow the most difficult stage of the Tour de France up to the Mont Ventoux. The mountain is ideal for para-gliders. Or would you prefer in winter time to go skiing in the morning and play golf in the afternoon?

At the same time Bédoin is the ideal starting point for a cultural journey through the South of France. Regardless of whether you want to visit the Pope's Palace in Avignon, the Pont du Gard near Nîmes, the antique theatre of Orange or the unique canyon of Nesque, you are less than an hour away. Within a 7 mile distance you find the Chateau du Barroux, the middle-age castle of Crillon-le-Brave, the Roman stone sarcophagus of Mazan, the Gallo-Roman villa of Beaux or the museum for historical farming equipment in Caromb.
